Storybook Cruises LLC is an independently owned and operated franchise of Cruise Planners, Inc.  The company was founded by Pete & Nancy Peterson and is located in Ashburn, VA, which is a suburb of Washington, DC just north of Dulles International Airport. 

Pete & Nancy were both born and raised in the Washington, DC area.  They were high school sweethearts and have been married for 35 years.  In 1981 they decided to move to Portland, Oregon, where they lived for 3-1/2 years.  Pete then accepted a job in Denver, Colorado for a year before moving to another position in Spokane, Washington.  After living there for 5 years, they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and spent the next 9 years learning to love Southwestern crafts and green chile.  In 1999 Pete figured it was time to return to the Washington area to finish out his career with the Federal government and finally retired in May 2006 after 30 years of service.

Pete is extremely proud to have served his country in the U.S. Navy.  He is Vietnam veteran, who served on River Patrol Boats in the Mekong Delta in 1970-71 and was awared the Navy Commendation Medal with bronze 'V' for Valor in combat.  He is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), the Vietnam Veterans Association (VVA), and the PBR Forces Veterans Association (PBR-FVA).  He has also been an ice hockey referee with USA Hockey for 24 years and worked for 2 years in the Western Professional Hockey League.   In what little spare time he has, he and Nancy enjoy two-wheel crusing!  They love riding their motorcycle to various festivals and events sponsored by charities.  Pete is also an accomplished scuba diver with over 150 dives and maintains his certification as an open water, advanced open water, and rescue diver.

Nancy was an Executive Administrative Assistant and worked for a large travel agency, but now works full-time on the cruise business.  She is proud to quickly point out that her favorite job is being a mother to their three children (Curt - age 28, Brian - age 24, and Kate - age 22).  All three are accomplished hockey players who have been playing since they were old enough to walk.  Curt played college and junior hockey, and had a try-out with a professional hockey team.  He is currently a manager at a local specialty running shoe store.  He is working his way up through the officiating ranks and has done national tournaments, college, and is now an official with the Southern Professional Hockey League.  He recently married his girlfriend of 7 years, Melissa, who is wonderful and we're so glad to welcome her into the family.  Brian played high school and junior hockey, and is in now a ramp agent with United Airlines.  Kate was the first girl to ever try-out and make her high school varsity hockey team, and was recruited by both Penn State and Maryland.  She is currently serving in the U.S. Navy in Jacksonville, FL and is assigned to a helicopter squandron, where she is an Airframe Mechanic and certified as a Plane Captain.

Pete & Nancy began cruising several years ago and immediately fell in love with the experience.  They realized they wanted to share the romance, fun, excitement, and adventure with others.  So, they established their own company and now take great pride in fulfilling the dreams of their newfound friends.  They have taken 30 cruises and done more than a dozen ship inspections on top of that, so their experience and knowledge has grown immensely.  They have also assisted many groups with their arrangements, including weddings, family reunions, and business meetings and have become group specialists.

Pete and Nancy provide outstanding personalized service and fantastic customer support - a combination that can't be beat!  They treat every client like a member of the family, providing them with the same service they would expect if the roles were reversed.

One of the things that makes them special is they take the time to get to know their clients so together they can select a cruise vacation that will meet their needs while exceeding their expecations.  Service really is their highest priorty!  After all, if the client is happy, they will continue to use their service and recommend them to others.

Also, unlike most travel agents, Pete & Nancy will continually monitor the prices their clients pay for cruises, since prices fluctuate all the time.  If a better price, upgrade, or amenity can be found, they will find it.  They have many satisfied customers who will testify as to the incredible deals they were able to get even long after final payment had been made.
